Ok let me first say I am addicted to those damned little CZ 527s. I have a kevlar varmit in 223 that has a 24" barrel. I have been thinking for a long time that I NEED the 527 carbine in 223 as well. So my question is who much velocity do you loose by the 5.5" shorter barrel?? and how much will this shorten the effective range of the caliber

I've played with a 16" barreled competitor SS handgun in .223. It lost 200-250 fps from a 24". Meaning I still got just over 3000 fps with 50-52 grn bullets.
