I have a chance to buy a Remington 700 Classic in 6.5x55 Swede. There are a number of 6.5x55 addicts out there. Anyone shoot the Rem 700 Classic in the Swede and how does it shoot? Thanks

Had one. Shot well with 140 Sierras which is about all I played with. I was getting very close to 2800 fps with H4350, 5 shots just under 1". Very easy rifle to shoot, virtually no recoil.

I have a 700 Classic and it is OK. I prefer the Remington Mountain Rifle stock design, so my 6.5x55 is installed in a laminated MR stock.

I have one that I shoot with a tupperware remington stock. It shoots 100-125 grain bullets very accurately.I have shot prairie dogs out to 450 yards with it and a 12X scope.Getting just over 3000 fps with 100 grain bullets. I also use it with 125 grain partitions and a 4X scope for deer hunting.
