Thanks Kabluewy, I should have included that I have the 22-250 AI, 270 Win, and a 7x57mm. Trying to fill a void between the 22 and 270, leaning to a stainless synthetic rig for bad weather hunting. Thanks again,..Jerry

i'm not a big fan of the .25-06, it would probably work better with the heavier .25 bore bullets, but a .257 roberts improved will come so close to matching it that the difference is academic and would fit right in there perfect.

Wouldn't the 100gn TTSX @ 3650+ out of the 25/06 AI get it done nicely?

Nevermind, bad call on my part. A friend said to chamber to 9.3x64. He allowed chambering that old german action to a 25-06AI was akin to puttin lipstick on a billygoat, Guess Ill go 9.3

Larger--9.3 X 64 or- better yet for nostalgia
9.3 X 62.

To fit between your others-- great cal choice:
6.5 X 65 or a 256 Newton,

The 6.5X 65 is pretty much a 6.5-06 /6.5 RCBS me-too.

It's an RWS cartridge :
twist 1 in 200mm (7.9") to stabilize 160's also handles 140's very well.

Have built several 6.5's over the years,in several iterations, it's an affliction. Wink
