Just wanted to share the news of the arrival of a new place holder in the safe. Just picked up a used M700 in 6.5X55 off gunbroker.com. It's not a Classic model, it's actually an ADL with a jeweled bolt. I inquired with Rem Factory and they said they made a special run of ADLs for one of their distributors. Anyway, got the rifle, extra timney trigger, bases, dies & shellholder, and an extra stock for $470.00 after shipping/transfer fees. It wasn't like a smokin' deal or anything, but how many Remington 6.5X55's are floating around out there?

Near as I can tell it's got a 1 in 8" barrel, which I'm guessing will be fast enough for just about anything I want to feed it. I got it for a primary deer gun and as a backup for elk season.

So, anyone got any good recipes for 130 grain Barnes TSX in a 6.5X55?

Beaming with pride,
irwin

got a restocked classic that shoots pretty well. I have found the 120gr NBT with 45.5gr IMR4350 to shoot well long seated to be .020" off the lands.

Hello Irwin,

You didn't buy that rifle, you stole it. Congratulations. I have the 6.5x55 in the Classic model. If yours has the 1 in 8" barrel twist so much the better Mine has a 1 in 9" which is far from ideal. However, it's still a very accurate rifle. I have a couple of Classics and really think it's the best model in the Remington line. Best wishes.

I bet that,ll be a sweet shooter ! And your bullet choice is a good one too ! I don't have any datta for the t-shock specifically but the barnes manual says Lists H-4350 and RL-19 as most accurate with X-bullets 47.5 grains of RL-19 is max and shows 28,77 while 46 grains of H-4350 gives 2935 24 inch barrel, turning a couple pages to the 6.5X284 it might intrest you to know the fastest load with the same bullet is only 3011, and that from a 26 inch barrel. I don't think 84 fPS is going to matter much to a hunter...tj3006
