Does anyone know what case this round is based on? And how does it compare to the .264?

It is based on a 300 H&H case blown out. It is pretty much a 300 Win mag necked down to .284 or .264.

I'm in the process of building one 6.5/300Win Mag . My barrel maker says it will do everything the 264 was supposed to do.I have my barrel and action back but have a lot of polishing on the old P14 action to do yet.
