Plainsman---

It's also called the 257 Ugalde. It's an improved (40 deg) 25/223.

Shoulder dia. = .368
base to shoulder = 1.4495
base to neck = 1.497

It should be fine with light bullets and moderate ranges. It's sure to be a hoot to shoot.

25.0 grains of Reloader 7 and 75 gr. Sierra's makes for one great load. Start at 23.0 grains and work up. 87 gr Hornadies and TAC (don't have the data with me) got to 2560 fps with great accuracy. Ed

Plainsman, Buckweet, a frequent poster at the "Single Shot Pistol" forum, has recently bought a 257 TCU Contender barrel. I believe Virgin Valley Custom Guns provided him some load info. You might check w/ him to see if he has some data he can share w/ you. [Wink] Gary T.
