I've wanted one for a long time. I've got a beautiful Mexican Mauser action in the safe that I planned on using. Then I came across this and couldn't pass it up. I plan on putting a Zeiss 2.5-8 on it and start shooting soon. Then it will be shooting coyotes in Sodak and deer in Northern MN. Just fell in love with the cartridge and its excellent lines and proportions. Holds 4 down and feeds very smoothly. What a great little rifle.

A Mex Mauser 250 would have been nice but so is that!

Great looking little rifle! You'll enjoy I'm sure! Hope it's as good to you as the great little 6x47 with the Lilja barrel I got off this site a while back! I like the common stuff but the "little guys" in obscure chamberings sure are fun!! GHD

Welcome to the world of the 250/3000. If you reload try RL15 and 100gr bullet of choice. I started with 33.5gr and worked up to find the sweet spot.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

I have plenty of RL15 on hand so that's good. What are good load suggestions for the 75 grainers? The Dakota has a 24" barrel and the test group that they sent along wasn't too shabby. I can't wait to get out with it.

Makes me want to build a .250-3000 even more. I've got a Turk 93 and 1:14 twist barrel on my bench right now. Plus z1r on email and speed dial.

What is the barrel length, and overall length of the rifle? I'm leaning towards something like a Ruger Compact with my idea of a build. 16.5-18" feather weight barrel, with a nice trim laminate stock and about 12-13" LOP.

It has a 24" barrel but I haven't measured the overall length. It's light and slim, and feels like it will be a joy to carry.

Taylorce1,
Please do yourself a favor and use a 1-10' twist. Then you can shoot all 100gr bullets.
In my 700 Classic I tried RL17 and 100 Hor.with great velocity and grouping (over 3100).

I would use a 1:10 barrel but I have the 1:14 already. Besides I have a .25-06 with a 1:10 26" barrel if I want to go 100+ grains anyway. I want a nice compact rifle with around a 16.5" barrel so I doubt I could get 3100 fps anyway.
