Been a great five years of the 17 FB but now, according to Remington on wed 05/28/13 I was told by a gentleman at "Big Green" that the days of wine, Red Mist and Fireballs is OVER. No more Fireballs and also no brass except for an "occasional" run of the brass but no 17s in the Remington lineup. Real shame. Guess it`s back to the old 17 Mach 4? It is not real until it is published by Remington. As long as you handload I am not sure any of it would make any difference.

That's really unfortunate. I have two 17FBs and like them a lot. It's hard to beat for PDs. My brass supply is good so I am not worried. NRA Patron member

I could never figure out why Big Green didn't just introduce a 20 Fireball. They could have legitimized the 20 VARTARG and dominated the market with it.

trying to figure out why arms companies do things is like understanding women.....give it up....it's not going to happen! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." My thoughts exactly.....a 20 cal Fireball would have made more sense. I had a 221 FB a while ago and thought it a great little round. I do have a 17 Remmy in a Sako but the FB case would have been great in a 20 caliber.
