Hi all.
Finally was able crawl out of my chemo shell and do a little shooting. With all the aches and pain i settled for only the non-violent littles 22 Hornets I have collected along the way. I traded off my neat little lefty CZ 223 for a Browning Micro-Medallion 22 Hornet and wasn`t too unhappy with the trade. Did some trigger work [if you call changing a spring work] and it now is at about 2.5 lbs. Off a pretty good rest it shot well under an inch at 110 yds with some factory R-P and also some I had loaded a long time ago with Lil Gun. This was with a Simmons Aetec 3-10 scope.. I was pleased but am still getting used to the magazine and the way it functions. I might try and get/make a kevlar stock to take some of the weight off.
Then came a real surprise!! I finally got around to shooting the old CZ ZKW 465 with the beautiful double set triggers. What a rifle!! Even with a VERY old Redfield 4X WF it shot 1/2"-5/8" groups and is a better shooter than I am. Believe me!!! It took a bit to remember how to use the DSS after all these years. This is a beautiful rifle and is a pleasure to carry and shoot. A REAL keeper. I am a real fan of any old rifles and this is a beauty. So smooth it makes you wonder if you worked the bolt at all.
I`ll reload and try some different fodder and see what happens. Perhaps the shakes will let up a bit more too.
Aloha, Mark

Sounds like you got lucky with two good rifles (not sure any of us really deserves more than a single good rifle)!

If you know how (and I don't) and have the time, I'd like to see some pics of that CZ. If you say it's beautiful you need to share that if you can! Big Grin

I also have a Brno ZKW-465. It is to bad that they don't make them like that anymore.

Dear ARWL and MHC,
Glad to oblige but do not know how to put pictures on AR. I tried a few times but am computer illiterate. If you send me email addresses I will be glad to send pictures or if you can put them in AR for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Aloha, mark

Sure sounds great. Now if it just stays shooting like that, you will really have something. All the old 22Hornets I wrestled with for 35yrs would do that a week or so and then - SHAZAM - 1.5"-2" groups would magically appear with the exact same Loads, using the exact same components.

But, that was long before Lil'Gun Powder and the 35gr Bullets.

Best of luck to you.

I'm fortunate to have one of these as well. Best hornet production rifle ever made. IMHO of course.

The CZ will respond very well to the LiL Gun and 35 grain V-Maxes, also the Win 46 HP's do a great job.
