I saw in the 2007 Remington cataloge this new round. Is it interchangable with the .17 Mach IV? In the Hornady reloading manual are datas for the .17MachIV. It would be usefull, when this can used for the new Fireball round.
I´m very interested about a rifle for this round. I know, there´s the .17 Remington, but this round I mean it´s to fast. The Fireball has with 20grs ~4000fps and if handloaded with 25grs ~3600fps. I mean the barrel must not cleaned so often between the shoots.
What´s your opinion about this new .17?

Martin: in the "Varmint Hunting" section of AR there is a thread or two on the 17 Fireball. May have to go back a week or two.

Plus lots of discussion on the small caliber site saubier.com

It does appear to be virtually identical to the Mach IV.
