257 1-12" Twist?
What's the heaviest bullet that has shot well for you in a .257" that has a 1-12" twist barrel?

I have a new to me 257 Weatherby with a 1-12".

I think 1 in 12" is the standard twist for a .257 Weatherby. I believe they were designed to handle up to 120 grains.
I have no experience with the Wby only Roberts and it runs a 1 in 10" twist.

It's my understanding that the older Weatherbys with the 1:12 twist shot 117 grain round nose bullets as they couldn't stabilize the 120 spritzers.

I'd suggest you handload some 110 accubonds.....

Very nice rifle! You may or may not be able to get the 120 partition or 117 gameking to stabilize. The 110 bonded, 115 partition, and 100 grain TSX/ttsx and lighter will turn fine.

as twist CAN go down when vels go UP, i suggest that you try 120gr of your fav bullet ---

though 110gr accubonds are an excellent bullet
