Necking 250sav to 7mm, what vel. increase could one expect from 25cal-120gn to 7mm/120gn? 250sav shooters might also enlighten me as to what top end vel. youve achieved with 120gn pills...

That would be similar to the 7mm IHMSA and 7mm/6.5x47 Lapua. I am confident you can get 2800-2900 or more depending on bbl length. I had a 7BR did 2878 in 21", and two 7/08s did 3050-3100, also 21" bbls.

38gr. IMR4831,oal=2.705, 2790 fps. could have gone higher but didn't. My rough calculations would be close to 2940 fps. forr the 7mm.roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

and building this would accomplish what exactly that would be different from simply buying a rfle chambered in 7mm-08? and the 7mm-08 can do 3000-3150fps with 120gr bullets. IMR4350 would be a MUCH better choice for either your 7mm-250 or 7mm-08 than IMR4831 would be. AD If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day!
