| One of my buddies really likes his .17 Fireball. Says it is a dynamite varmint cartridge and super accurate. Another option would be a .204 Ruger. Lots of people seem to think it is the new standard in prairie dog shooting.
Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

| Depends what you want to use it for.Big game I would go with the 7-08.For varmints the .22PPC is about as good s it gets. |

| Kend--Sounds like from the number of .223's you probably have all usages covered and just want something different. I shoot air rifles, some .22's and some .17's and some 5mm .20 cals which are in between. I like the 5mm .20 cal and consider it to be the best of both world's between the .17's and 22's. For that reason I think I'd like a .204 Ruger but have no experience with them. |

| It really depends on what you want to use it for and whether you want to mess with the bolt face. If you don't mess with the bolt face, then 17Rem sounds good, or a 6.5TCU, or the 204 would work as well.

| How about the 223 necked out to 243. I believe that's called a 6x47. No bolt face or magazine issues that way. |

You nailed it, I also have a 221 Fireball, 222 Rem. and a new 204 so those are covered as well but, evidently, I don't mind more than one rifle in a particular caliber. I have to stick to the 223 bolt face, I don't want to get into opening it up. The 6X47 sounds interesting and I was thinking about the 300 Blackout as well. Thanks for the suggestions, I have some thinking to do. |

| The restriction is the bolt head. Take a look at the 7mm TCU. It is a 223 necked up to 7mm. I had a Contender handgun barrel in 7mm TCU one time. It was very accurate...

| 6X45,47, any of the TCU chambers and the AAC Blackout would all be good choices. I run the 6X47 and it has proven to be a very accurate cartridge. The only thing I don't like about it is the amount of trimming I have to do. If I were to build another I'd probably do an AI chamber. I have to trim after every third loading. |
