my bud stopped by last nite to show me an old Rem that a lady had given him. under the scope ring i could see Remington on one side and Express n the other. im sure a model 30. very nice gun in good condition. he trimmed a few bushes for the lady and when husband passed away gave it to my friend. the local sport mecca offered her 75 bucks for it. any ideas what a value on a real nice model 30 would be. ballpark of course.

If it is really nice, probably around $600 +/- retail. The .257 chambering will sweeten the pot some to the right buyer.

A 100% model 30 Express is listed at $600.00 in the Blue Book.
In my area the "book" values are usually a little high.

thanks for the info guys. we may load up some 100 hornadies to try. i did measure the twist and it was 1 in 10. overall a nice little gun even with the enfield action a very slick package. it is scoped so it has been drilled and tapped. any ideas how much that would take off of the value.?

600 is low for a 30+257 in decent condition ... if its reasonably there, say, 80-90%, its 1K .. i' ve never seen a rem 30 in 257, can you send me some pics?

My friend had an original model 30 in 257 Roberts, they do exist. He sold it 15-18 years ago for $250. It was minty at the time.

I saw a similar posting of a 257 Roberts in a model 30 on another forum, and as described, it was far from original. I am wondering if this is the same gun?

I too have seen them original for sale, and they do command more than the 06. It's been a while since I was looking so I can't remember the prices. I was looking for a good deal on one thinking with a new bolt handle and scope it'd be perfect.
