CZ small bores?

I have read many positive reports on CZ550 rifles. What about their little guys? I am considering buying one of two rifles. A CZ 527 carbine in .223 to keep in my truck and availability of ammo. The other a CZ 527 FS in .22Hornet because if ohboooga decides to start banning rifles derived from military cartridges it might be safe for a few more months, and I like mannlicher stocks.

Thanks
Andy B

Every one I have seen or heard of shoots great. I'm not sure you could go wrong with anything in the CZ product line.

They seem to be great shooters. Just wish CZ would get rid of the backwards working safety on them.

CZ 'backward' safeties are easily to work with....just convince yourself to think like a dumocrat....

they do everything backwards, so it should be relatively simple to adapt... lol

I have a 527 in .22 Hornet. It is , by far, the most accurate rifle I own.

I have a 527 varmint in .223 and that's my favorite bolt gun by far. Very accurate and built better than most guns costing twice as much. The safety doesn't bother me and I like the protruding detach mag, easy to unload between coyote stands.

I have a CZ 527 in 221 Fireball. Even my 12 year old son can shoot one hole groups at 100 yards with it.

My 527 F/S in .22 Hornet shoots better than me. That, in itself is not unusual, but is is one very neat rifle.

I have a CZ527 in .223 and it is my favorite rifle. It would be easier to list the bullets it wont shoot than the ones it will. Big Grin

I agree with the other posters with 527's in .223, mine was exceptionally accurate out of the box and even more so after a tiny load adjustment. No reason to think one in 22 Hornet would be any different.

Andy B,I have owned 2 Ruger 77/22 Hornets and one CZ 527 Lux 22Hornet.Sold my first Ruger to get the CZ because I heard they were very accurate, more consistant and more velocity from 24in barrel etc.
After acquiring it I found out they have a LOT of trouble with the magazines as in failure to feed and also very short so you can't load for long OAL.The velocity was Less than my 22in barreled Ruger. You also cannot use low scope mounts because the bolt will hit the scope. It was very awkward shoot with the high mounted scope, backwards safety and muzzle heavy long barrel.
So,I sold it and bought a new Ruger 77/22H and I am happy again.
YMMV

Neil

Also it never was as accurate as my Ruger.

I agree, I own two of them in 221 FB, maybe its the caliber, but the rifles are extremely accurate.

I have the 527 in 204 and love it. Extremely accurate out of the box and you will love the single set trigger. I will look at cz first for any of my small caliber guns in the future
