I owned a 527 in .221FB. Like all of the CZ's I've owned it was very accurate, and I was only using Remington factory ammunition.

I have a CZ 527 221 FireBall. My two son's favorite rifle. Fun to shoot and very very accurate. Loading rounds into the mag was difficult at first. I took the mag apart and polished the inner lips, it's smooth as silk now.

My little brother has a CZ 527 American in .221 Fireball. In short, he loves the darn thing. All he feeds it is factory fodder and it is still good to go for p-dogs out to 300 yards or so. As far as I know he has never mentioned the groups he gets with it, but the couple of times he brought it with him on a p-dog shoot the thing was deadly, as was my CZ 527 Lux/American in .223 Remington. I have a .223, the first chance I get I'll buy one in .221, and I already own .221 Rem 700. I bet CZ chambers the .17 Fireball- then I'll have to buy one of those.

this cartridge and it's rimmed cousin the 22 Hornet are just a dandy pair of recoilless penny-pinchers to load for and shoot, and great 200yd varmint rifles...at least out here in the Idaho Territory. I haven't pushed them beyond that, got a Savage 12BVSS that shoots just a hiccup under 1.25" at 300 yards, and a 22-284 for everything past 400 or so. Can't imagine not having one or the other around. Rich DRSS

AWESOME little rifle, mine has great wood, the set trigger is wonderful, very easy on powder while giving good velocities and wonderful accuracy. Mine love 40 gr vmax's or barnes varminators over 15-16 grs of LilGun. Most loads giver me right at 3400 fps. My favorite load is 15.5 gr of LIlGun over a CCI 450 primer with a barnes varminator on top puts 5 shots under a 1/2" most times and is just nicely at 3400 fps. great chuck and pdog load. I rank it right next to my 6mm tcu bullberry contender as my favorite varmint gun. I think its even more fun than my cooper What amazes me most is I get 3400 fps with only 15.5 grs of LilGun, my cooper 223 needs 27.3 grs of benchmark to get 3660 fps. The fireball is super efficient. 3-7-77

Have had the CZ 527 in .221 FB for a year. Right out of the box, I played with several handloads. I cannot get the rifle to shoot OVER 1.5 inches at 100 yds., no matter what I do!! Having recorded some 35, 5 shot groups, the average of all is around 3/4 inch and I am not a bench rest shooter. My best two groups were shot on the same day: 5/16" and 5/16". The groups were shot with two different loads: V-Max 40 and Lil Gun. Also Speer 50 TNT and H-335. My set-up strongly resembles the photo posted by TODBARTELL. Scope is Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40, bench is home built from treated lumber, front rest is Caldwell "the Rock," and rear rest is a swede sandbag. Phenomenal rifle!! I am not changing a thing. ********************** Thank goodness my grandfather put me in the woods as a child ! www.TableRockAngler.com
