I put a BufferTech polymer buffer on the recoil spring guide of my Mini-14. Problem is, it's too thick and doesn't allow the bolt to lock to the rear. Is there a different or better buffer out there, or should I try to get a fix from Buffertech?

Why I have shot thousands arounds out of my mini and never had the need for a buffer and haven't seen anydamage. If it is too thick grind or file it thinner untell the slide locks back.
