Blue Dot Load Reports 2007
in the last 48 hours I have gotten 12 emails requesting this data, and some sent to old mail spots that let me know I have emails there, but I don't use anymore, so I don't even remember the passwords...

So for anyone wanting this, since it is the start of hunting season again...

please refer to this link...on the forum in reloading...

A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?" The Ranger responded, "Because they don't make a 46."

Seafire, I want thank you again for your efforts. In my opinion, you have provided a great service to many of us. I have started 2 kids out with your loads in rifles that they can "grow into" The does and button bucks the harvested had no idea they had been hit with a "reduced load"
my wife even enjoys a range sesion now, with light .243's.

Thanks again!
Joe

AC..

Thanks for the kind words.. I guess my biggest motivation is providing something that kids and female shooters can handle.. I have to admit to carrying Blue Dot loads for a lot of my hunting and almost exclusively for my varmint shooting...They easily give me a lethal 250 yd load with no hold over.. and a mil dot scope stretches that out to 350 to 400 yds..

My son is going out on his first year deer hunting after going thru youth training, as is one of his friends...

both are toting 243s, loaded with 21 grains of Blue Dot, one with 100 grain bullets that have an MV of 2500 fps..... and my son with 95 grain Ballistic Tips at 2600 fps..

I don't own a 7 Ultra Mag, but I am in the process of trying to gather all the bullets I need to do a range report on the 7 Rem Mag.. I got ahold of one not too long ago, just to do the Blue Dot testings... It is a Savage 116...

That will be close enough to the 7 Ultra Mag that you can use that data.... I'll try to remember your interest and send you the first data sheet when I am done...

cheers & thanks a lot..
