Hi all, wasn't sure whether to put this in Reloading or here, so I went "Eeny, meeny, miney ..." and then remembered that the rest was racist so flipped a coin instead.

I bought a big box of Hornady Zmax bullets today (.22 cal - 50 gr) for the .223.

Apart from the fact that the box made me LOL due to the green slime colour and the Sloagan about being prepared for the Zombiegeddon and the undead varmints on the front, has anybody used these?

Are they any good? What more "normal" bullets are they based on?

Thanks all.

=======================

Edited to add - I should have used the awesome power of Google and I would have found that they are V-Max with a different tip, but I'll leave it up in case others are as easily amused as I am

I picked a box of 500 of the 55gr Zmax when I couldn't find any varmint bullets during one of the panic buy periods. They shot no different than the other Vmax bullets and they worked just as well on coyote as the others.

I've got a number of boxes of different calibers of the loaded Hornady Zombie bullets. Some for my 45, for my 40, 9mm etc. All green tipped! Yes, quite a sales gimmick and quite successful a couple of years back! Big Grin

Yep, a real fun thing, actually.

Looking round the interwebs (Al Gore's invention as you may remember), I found old ads and so on - really funny.

I'm sure copywriters for ad agencies appreciated the ability to let their minds just soar ... or something.

Got to load some up this weekend or more likely next weekend.

Thanks for playing along, guys. I know it's a gimmick, but it's fun.

The goal of a company is to sell their products if this works more power to them.

I've shot thousands of v-max and not one zombie has ever bit me. I'm sure with a green tip I would be just as safe.
