Twist for 7x57 140gr bullets
I'm considering having built a 7x57 and intend to use some sort of portion bullet, depending on what the rifle finally likes best, of around 140gr. Velocity is a factor in stability also, I get that, but as a starting point, what twist rate am I looking for?
Advice most welcome

I would go with 1 in 9". That is pretty standard, and does everything you would want in a 7X57.

You might ask to have this moved to the medium bore forum.

All 7x57 should have a 1x9, time proven twist for the caliber. It will shoot all weight bullets made for it, or at least all mine have.

FWIW, have a Ruger tang safety and a Marlin XL that have both been rebarreled to 7x57 with 1/10 twist heavy barrels. Presently am shooting 168 gr Nosler custom competitions in them with pretty good accuracy.
