None showing up in Central TX. Local dealer checks the distributors every Monday. No sure dates.

That seems odd. Usually the Classics show up around February or March.

Until I read this, I hadn't really thought about the fact that I hadn't seen any of the Fireballs.

Wonder what's up with Remington.

'Course, there's a lot of folks wondering that. [Smile]

Joe.

Anyway to find out how many 221's will be made ???

I built a 221 FB in a rifle several years ago. It has become my favorite 22 cal rifle, a lot of fun to shoot......LR

We tried to get a Fireball today from Remington (got an insider that works there). He said the guns won't be out in force until October or Novemeber.

I heard some scuttlebut that they were delayed so they could fix some feed problems. Hey, at least they fixed them before shipping.....

Just unsubstantiated rumor, however, no warrantees expressed or implied. [Wink] Dutch.

Remington's response to a query (Aug 8th)about the 221 Fireball 700 Classic:
paraphrasing....The 700 Classic is scheduled for the third quarter of this calender year. When production has started, units will be shipped ...etc, etc. Manufacturing occurs in a staggered production schedule. There has been no production delays in regards to design or performance concerns.
Thank you for your interest in Remington products.

I posed a similar question back in Apr; they replied "shipping late 2nd qtr".
Maybe this time...

Maybe they'll fix the safety while they're at it.
