Was able to get to the range this last weekend and fire some new weapons I purchased over the winter and also record some velocity data - some of it kind of interesting. Ruger 10/22 22 LR Velociter = 1290 fps - not as fast as I expected CCI Stinger = 1610 fps - wow Winchester 94/22 Magnum Remington 33 gr polymer tipped Vmax = 2000 fps CCI 33 gr TNT Hollow Point = 2305 fps - wow - twice the bullet weight of the 17 HMR and approaching the same velocity The TNT appeared to group better but I was having scope problems so I need to do some more shooting to really judge the accuracy of these loads - but the TNT load really pops when you pull the trigger. Ruger 77/17 Hornady 17 gr = 2580 fps Remington 17 gr - 2570 fps - really couldn't see any difference between them. Some rounds exceeded 2600fps - shot to the same point of impact. Unbelieveable accuracy for a rimfire - even in a stout head wind - it was easy to smack small pieces of left over clay pigeons that littered the two hundred yd range. The gusty wind blowing affected the 17 HMR much less than the 22 lr or 22 mag.

The lot of .22 LR velocitors I have chrono'd at 1360 from a Win M 61 and just over 1400 from friends new CZ. They group better than Stingers in my rifle also.
