Hi folks. I've just about decided to get a 204 Ruger. Been looking a rifles. Interested in the CZ527 - American,Varmint,Kevlar Varmint and the Savage 12FV.

Your comments on these guns or others?

I currently have varmint rifles in 222,223,22ppc and 22-250.

Thanks,
Mike

I just got a 204 myself. It's a Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision Varminter. Single shot, heavy barrel, the whole nine yards. I am very impressed with the rifle, especially the Savage "Acu-trigger". Out of the box it breaks clean at 1/2 pound. I'm in the very early stages of load development and the best I've done so far is 5/16" for 5 shots using a Berger 35 HP, 27.0 H335 and CCI450 primers. You'd be hard pressed to find a better rifle for a heavy varminter (IMHO).

I have 2 savage 12's. One in a VLP and another in a BTVSS and I love em both. My next one will probably be a CZ-527 for my carry around yote rifle. If the new remington AR in 204 becomes listed as "non-restricted" here in Canada, then it will be my next purchase.

I have several of the CZ Varminters with the HS Precisions Kevlar stocks on em. They are aluminum block bedded with a fully adjustable single set trigger.
They have a flat fore-end but the rifle while it sets a bag extremely well is not very heavy.
I like them above all others for platforms for wildcat varminters. Mine have all been very accurate before being redone and exceptionally so now.
Excellent value! You won't be sorry.
