Boy am I pumped up tonight.

I just took two new rifles off of layaway. I bought a CZ 527 in .223 with a Desert Sunset Camo laminated stock and a CZ 452 heavy barreled .22 LR. I put a 3.8 X 10 Simmons Aetec on the .223 and a 4 X 12 Aetec on the .22. I work as the Range Safety Officer at an indoor range and I was able to shoot the .22. Geez, it is the most accurate .22 I have every held in my hands. I shot groups of well less than a quarter inch at 25 yards consistently today with three different types of ammo, Wolf, Ely, and CCI Mini Mags. Yep the cheap stuff shot well too.

I cannot shoot bottle neck rifle cartridges inside as our backstop will not handle them but I will shoot my .223 this Sunday. Yee ha.

I am going to order a stock from Elk River Stocks ( http://www.reamerrentals.com ). I cannot decide which laminate color to choose from . Decisions, decisions.

Tuesday of next week I am going to have to put a CZ 452 in .17 on layaway. If the .22 shoots this well then I just have to have a . 17 to go along with it....

You better do someserious research before ordering from reamerrentals. I've heard horror stories, like being belly-up!

Congrats on the new rifles! You may be interested in improving the trigger on the Varmint and the new .17 when you get it. Eric Brooks makes a trigger kit for $14 that will make the trigger lighter and reduce the creep. If that's not enough, you can get an adjustable sear from brownell's that will make it real sweet.

The trigger has been my only complaint about the CZ. I have two, one in 22 Hornet reamed to K-Hornet and a .22LR. Both are unbelievably accurate but....the trigger!!! Thanks for the heads up about the trigger kit.

Bring them to Swan Wednesday. We'll let you in on a few well kept secrets for getting good groups with a 223
