Blackhawk,
Your mention of the Rem mod. 25 brings back memories of a kid I hunted a lot with in High School..He always killed his deer with a Rem mod.25 Carbine in a 32-20..If I ever find one of those I intend to buy it..I see a number of then in 25-20 in rifle persuasion and owned a few but I liked the 32-20 much better.

another 25 caliber cartridge i am very interested in is the 25-35 and i'd love to have a rifle chambered for it. also i have a catalog that A-Square sent to me and i saw a cartridge mentioned in it called the .25 Souper, anyone know anything about a .25 souper because i've never heard of it before.

.25 Souper is a .308 case necked down to .257. It will basically duplicate the performance you can get in a .257 Roberts, but it's a bit shorter case so it fits in a short action a little better. Aside from the novelty of owning a wildcat, I wouldn't pick one over a .257 Bob.

I have a Sako AV lefty in .25-06 that shoots so well with anything factory I put in it I have not bothered with reloading until lately. Custom stock may be nice one day, but it shoots so well I have hunted down a few more Sako lefties in other calibers. Had a .257 Roberts and .25 WSSM, but they did not stick around long as they were not made for a southpaw. I would love to find a Remington Model 8 in .25 Remington, but that is a different kind of addiction.

Love my 257 Roberts.. It is like the 36-22-36 of the 1/4 bores IMO.

i am a big fan of the 257 rob. and 25-06 you can not beat them on whitetail deer from 0-300 yds.

Last year I built a 25-284 on one of the FN SPR (Win 70) short actions. So far I really like it as it shoots TTSX's into 3/4 MOA or better and is a great all-around carry rifle as I used a featherweight contour Rock 5R barrel and bedded it in a B&C Medalist stock. Great whitetail rig for WI. I put a 2.5-8 Leu on it.

Shoot straight, shoot often.

For those of you wanting a 25 Rem. I have a factory new (very old) 25 Rem barrel for a Rem 30, 30-S or 720..strangely enough these barrels will fit any 270, 30-06 or 25-06 action and feed like poop thu a goose..and would will greatly enhance the value of any Rem out there. Also it has those Rem/Enfield thick threads and they can be chased to make it work on about any bolt action rifle.. I'll take $150 plus ship..if interested..I have had it for years and just never have gotten around to doing anything with it.
