Gunsmithing by Jack Davis. Stocked by Alex Sitman of Master Class Stocks. Shoots very nice all the way to 600 yards. Beautiful rifle HP. Best of luck with it. Here is a picture of my centerfire match rifle. It's a 40X-B in 6mm Rem Intl. The barrel on it now is a Douglas 1-10" at 27.5". The stock is a Remington Free Rifle stock. The trigger is the Remington set to 10 oz. and the sights are a Lyman front and Redfield Intl. rear. The purpose of the rifle is three and four postion slow fire matches at 200 yds. The reason for the small front sight is to be able to read the adjacent target numbers while aiming. Your very perceptive. That rifle was built for the 300 meter Free Rifle event. However there are no 300 meter or yard ranges near here. I did fire a 250/250 with it on the 300 meter target reduced to 200 yds. That's five prone, sitting and kneeling and ten offhand. Join the NRA | |||

We had another snow storm on the 24th. We got about 6". There has been snow on the ground here all winter. I went hunting that day before the storm hit and there was zero to 12" of old snow there. Even the bare ground here is still frozen. Snow is good. We can see game easier and track them. It also keeps others inside. If your going to tease me about the snow at the least I can do is to point out the advantages. We were coming home from dinner that night and it was just under freezing and snowing very hard. A car ahead of us was almost at a dead stop in the highway with it's hazards flashing. It's problem was that they thought they could not stop even though they were going only maybe one or two mph! The thing that many don't know is to shift a auto into neutral when you need to stop fast on ice or snow. The car, a new Honda sedan, went off the road and hit the curb. The two front wheels went over the curb but lucky for them the rear wheels caught on the curb. We just drove right off in our rear drive sedan. The wife was very very interested in knowing how to shift into neutral after seeing that! Join the NRA | |||

That because most Americans now a days have no idea what a clutch is, what it does, or why is it even necessary. IOW, they never learned to dirve a car with a manual gearbox. Based on what I see on the road, most American drives are uninvolved drones who would love to push an autopilot button and yak on the phone until the car drives itself to the destination. | |||

Good looking target rifles.After shooting my rem bdl 260 out of the box I can see why the 260 cal is used for targets.I don't shoot any matches but good luck to all of you that do. | |||
