KY23Reloader 7 and .223 Remington?
Has anyone had any luck with this combination? I'm looking to use 55 grain V-max bullets and getting somewhere around 3000 fps in a 16" AR-15.
I would like to be able to use RL 7 because I already use it for my most accurate loads in .45-70. I've seen some data using RL-7 for .223 but not much. What is the drawbacks of this powder in small caliber rounds?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

R-WESTR7 is pretty fast for 55 grainers in the 223. Doubt if you could get 3,000 in a 16" barrel with 55's without excessive pressure.
If you can still find any R12 (better hurry, cause every gun shop I find that has it, doesn't have it when I leave

), that will be much better. R15's a good one, as are W748, H335, H4895, Varget, TAC, and AA2230-C.

R/L 10 is supposed to be good for that cartridge just don't know if it is easily found yet.
