loaded two different .243 bullets
Why does one group to the left of the other,
even when I changeback and forth from one to the other

Question:
does any one Know why this is as it has not happened to me before and your brains may be a quicker way of sorting it out

Choices:
wind?
pulling the trigger

You should post this in the small bore forum.

probably neither.

From your description I'd guess bedding and barrel harmonics are getting the best of you. But these things are nearly impossible to figure out for sure from a key board. Nate

Neither one-it is due to barrel vibration (harmonics). This causes the muzzle to be pointed differently in relation to the target when the different bullets exit at a different point in the barrel's arc of vibration.

Nothing unusual about 2 bullets grouping in different places, unless you are talking 6 inches at 100 yards or some such number.
but as much as 3 inches give or take a would be expected as far as I am concerned.
I don't think youj have a problem...tj3006

Thank you to every one who answered my query
As nearly everyone had the same answer it tells me I`m not the first one to have this and it adds to my slow growing ballistics knowledge.
I can pass this on to others and pretend I know what I am talking about
regards Hamish

Yup, ElDeguello and Roger don't miss many on this forum.

If you can figure out how to make all bullets print to the same POI you'll become a very wealthy man!!!!
