Guys,

I am going on a prairie dog hunt at the end of may with several friends. They are on their 4th year going out. As to the rifles, they said I should bring rimfires mostly and perhaps 1 centerfire in .223 or .204. I plan on several 10/22's, a 77/22 and a cz 452 in .17hmr.
My question is this. I was looking for an auto in .17 and found the volquartson. It is rather high priced at 899.00. Has anyone had any dealings with these rascals? If so are they reliable, accurate, and worth the $$

Let me know if you like, or have had experiences good or bad with the gun.

Butchloc,

the quality seemed very good to me as well. I cycled the action several times, and it was slick. It was also heavy, which leads me to believe that its quality.
As for the price of HMR's... well that has gotten outta hand IMHO. Should have stocked up when I had the chance.
Did yours group well? also did it like aftermarket mags?

mine shot very well indeed. never tried the after market mags. ended up buying a magnum research 17 mach 2. ammo for that is at least still reasonable, especially when we found a distributor a couple or 3 years ago that was selling it for under 3 a box. bought lots of it then, th MR is not the quality of the volq. but is still quite good. i have had some trouble with the rims blowing out using hornady (cci) ammo but functions perfectly with remmy or ely.

A buddy bought one a year ago, and it has been back to the factory 4 times....

Finally, they just called him and asked him did he want it replaced with another one, or just get his money back...

He took the money back and went down and bought a bolt action savage with a Thumbhole stock for $329.00 at Bi Mart..

Thanks, after some thought, I have come to the conclusion that I will stick with what I have and see how it goes.
