I have a CZ Varmint Laminate .223 it's way more rifle than it ought to be for the money. My only beef with CZ is that their idea of epoxy bedding and mine are 180 out, no biggie, the set trigger more than makes up for it and beddings easy. I bedded mine and recrowned it (didn't really need the crowning but what the heck), after careful breakin it shoots as well as rifles costing three times as much.
The pull on the varmint laminate is a bit short but it in no way effects the shooting and I really like the way it sets a rest.
Oddly enough for a 1 in 9 twist the best load I've found uses a 40 grain V-Max in an IMI case using Benchmark powder and a 7 1/2BR Rem primer for about 3,750ish and little tiny groups. One other trait of this particular rifle that I truly appreciate is it's desire to group everything to the same point of impact. The 40 V-Max load and the 50 grain Sierra SP loads at 3,400ish (second most accurate) shoot to the same point. The 55 grain V-Max load at about 3,290ish requires me to dial the target turret 3 clicks left on windage to hit the same point, easy and consistant.
I'm a big Remington fan so don't take this wrong, but this CZ was purchased to replace a Varmint Synthetic Remington in .223 I turned into a Tactical .20, with both in stock trim the CZ shoots circles around it ( not any more, the custom Tactical .20 is a tack driver).
At any rate that's my take on the CZ. I'm betting you'll love it as much as I love mine!

Everything I've heard about the CZ527 Varmint laminate has been thumbs up. A lot of people don't realize that CZ is not the new kid on the block. It's the old Brno Firearms which had a great reputation for its accuracy. My next rifle is going to be a 527model in .22Hornet. Best wishes.
