i wouldn't "bother" unless it's a rebore...

having said that, it's perfectly between a 308 and a 30-06...

it's no practical gain on the 308, unless you put a very quick twist in and use it for 200-220+ gr .308 bullets at a low speed... which would go through anything.

it would certainly be an "interesting" misload for a 308 t be put in it, far MORE neck than a 308 in a 30-06.. probably look like the WHOLE BOX of 300 sav's I found... fired in a 308 chamber

where it me, I'ld just cut the barrel back and rechamber to 308
