I have a Short action Remington 700 with a 308 breech face that I was thinking of changeing to a wildcat.I like 22's and 17's so what are the different wildcat cartridges that fit my rifle by just screwing on a barrel and changing out the magazine.Thanks in advance. PS I would like to use this rifle for predator hunting.

I have a 20BR (6BR necked to .204) that is built on the Rem 700 action, .308 boltface. It will push a 33gr Hornady at over 4400 fps. It shoots in the .3s and .4s with zero recoil. I can watch bullets impact paper through my 6.5-20 Leupold.

Also check out the 224 Middlestead...a 243 necked to .224. You will need a 26 inch bbl, though.

Don't think the magazine will work with the 22/6br case or ppc case. Can bush the bolt face to work with the smaller case like the 17rem. Could do a 204 ruger. Also a 22-250AI,243AI,250AI,260AI you just kind of got to pick one. I'd talk to your gunsmith first and find out what reamer he has and kind of go from there. I wanted to do a 6/22-250 so I bought the reamer. Good Luck.
