ConWhat if I ...
Simple thoughts are often incorrect and this came to me late last night.
But ... I have a spare 0.458" Adams& Bennett barrel coming, my gunsmith has a 450Marlin reamer ... so what if I asked him to run it in 0.030" short and headspace using H&H Go/No-Go gages?
Would I end up with a cheap (bastardised) 458 American with off the shelf dies (450marlin) and no need to search for 450Marlin brass?
Now the expensive part ... what action could it be shoe-horned into? I have a Stevens 200 in 300WinMag that I can fit it too ... just seems a waste of a standard length action.
Do I need this ... NO! But that's not what wildcatters do with spare barrels, excess time and low cash flow.
Cheers...

Off the top of my head--I would look at a WSM action?

ConGood advice lads,
I am prone to over complicating stuff.
