hey guys was wondering if you all had any luck w/ h1000 powder and the 6mm-284. I've been trying to convert my "best recipes over to a powder that's less temperature sensitive. I've tried 54 gr h1000 under the 107 SMK with good accuracy results at 100 yards (1/2") but hadnt run them over the chrony.

I have been thinking about trying H1000 with 100 gr Game Kings and also VVN165. H-4831sc has been good in my rifle, but I have time to tinker this winter. I will be interested in seeing your velocity results.

Saludos..Frank

last weekend I did shoot several loads over our chrony. The h1000 seemed too slow. SD was a liitle wide and pressure was climbing w/ out velocity. I tried 54 gr up to 57 gr h1000Velocity was around 3250-3350. RL22 was a little quicker w/ 53 gr(3345average). I tried rl22 up to 56.5 but the primer pockets got stretched after a couple firings. I'm using norma 6.5x284 brass and my chamber is .268 so I'm necktrimming to get a .002 difference in loaded round vs chamber dimension. The h1000 printed patterns of 2 touching and the third 3/8 inch off @100yards. The rl22 was a small cluster.

By chance have you give plain old H4831sc a go? I shoot a 6/06 a lot and that has been working well for me.

Just a thought.

Good luck
