I'm looking at a rifle chambered in this round, but know very little about it. From what I've found out so far is you use 300WBY brass as starting point and dies are available, but that's all know about it. Web search hasn't been very helpful. What I would like to find out is 1. how are the cases formed. 2. What kind of performance I could expect. 3. Source for dies 4. Load data Please post experience, links or information on this round. Thanks, Terry

Try Bruce Baer, it's his cartridge. I think his e-mail is bbaerNOSPAM@innernet.net (remove the NOSPAM) If I remember correctly, it's based on the 8mm Mag case, basicly a 308-8mm Improved. You might want to check at www.longrangehunting.com - a lot of those guys are from Pennsylvania's long range crowd and would be familiar with the chambering and Bruce.

WIth mine I used Norma .340 Weatherby brass,Pulled the expander ball from a RCBS FL .300 Weatherby sizeing die.One pass through the die and the neck is sized down and your good to go..For your first fireing drop back on the powder charge and seat the bullet into the lands a bit so as to make sure the base is tight against the bolt face your first fireing this way will form the caseing much better. Good luck. ALPINE.
