I went to RSA last year with David Van Horn, my gunsmith, and he brought a 22/06 A.I. (just have to get the extra powder) He shot a 3 Wildebeest, a Waterbuck and a few others with it. He also got a feral hog in TX. It is the classic "shot placement is everything gun", it does not go through big bones or leave exit wounds however it puts them down like they were hit by lightening with a good shot. I tell him every time he talks about going back to Africa to take a 300 mag. The first barrel he used was a 1-14 shot well with 55 grain bullets but they had issues coming apart and zero penetration. That barrel lasted about 500 rounds of load development IIRC. Next barrel was 1-8, good for the heavier bullets up to 80 gr. That is what was used in RSA. Dave has the reamer and is a big fan of the caliber, his number is, (480) 892-9630. I would have concerns about the loaded ammo; way over bore cartridges can be finicky about loads and firing them in a gun that was not the one the loads were developed in may be bad. Mark

Mark, Thanks for the information, I have already sold the new brass. Hopefully I can sell the loaded ammo for someone who wants to salvage the bullets and resize the 155 new brass and the bullets from the other.
