I don't know what happened here, other that the neck got thinner obviously.

As I've posted a couple times, I made a resizing die and using it as a form die worked great, had plenty of neck tension and was also able to crimp the bullets firmly.

When I now try it with once fired cases it will not size the neck enough, to where the bullets drop down onto the powder.

Am I bummed! When I was learning woodworking I spent a lot of time trying to invent a drill that made holes smaller, but to no avail. I imagine that I probably can't make one for metal either. Oh well, back to the shop!

For the neck, I reduced the diameter by 3 thousandths, so the normal case neck OD is .233 so I made the die .230 ID but I think it will be .2295 the next time around. I haven't put a micrometer on the neck of the fired cases yet, will do that later this evening.

But even when things don't go right it is still kinda fun, in a twisted sorta way!

Bore the die out to accept redding/wilson bushings.

If your die has a neck expander button, try taking a couple thou off the button, or try resizing with the expander button completely removed.

No I kept things simple and do my decapping with a lee decapper punch and base. I turned the punch down to the proper OD. Much simpler that way and doesn't take much more time.
