wellcome!! it'll be a 376 steyr, more or less... and a great round at that... if you have a standard bolt face or a milaction (same thing) the steyr will feed easier. wish winnie would come out with the 338 jeffe

quote:You should get significantly better velocities, if loaded to same COL. IOW, put it in a 3.1" action like the steyr round, and you'll get awefully close to H&H performance. The Steyr gets right around factory H&H, to give you an idea. I think it would be an excellent round.

the 375 jamison (would be the 375 wsm) holds 86 grains of water... the 376 holds 80... 7.5% more... so, yep, both are right at 375.. the nod for vel/pres goes to the 375 wsm... and the nod for cheap reamers, brass, HEADSTAMPED brass, and dies 376 steyr jeffe

Hey Jeff, I heard this yrs production from Winchester is suppose to be the 25 WSM and 338. Could just be a rumor but the 25 is already a very popular wildcat in our area.

Hey Copyman,, I already have a 25wsm... i built it on a springfield in 2000!!! Had the reamer cut the day that winchester released the final drawings of the 30 wsm.... btw, cases are MUCH easier to make from 270 wsm. when the 338 WSM is released, i'll be buying a reamer and turning one of my vz's into one. In fact, i reckon I oughta go ahead and order a barrel, no? I am thinking a VERY light... say #2 contour, 22 to 24" (quickload says it's the magiv 75fps difference)... jeffe
