Has anyone tried shortening the 38-55 case to .44 Mag length for use in a revolver? It seems like it would be a nice fit between the .357 &.41 Mags.

Those Dan Wessons show up every now and then for sale. I sent one to the guy in Chico when they did the 444 Super Magnum conversions. FL size 444 marlin and trim to 1.60" or so.
