There's a new Newton Book that will be coming out soon (perhaps late this month from the Publishers): This was put together by a Newton Aficiando or Enthusiast...will cover all models of Newton Rifles. Each model will have a chapter on its history followed by a chapter on the details of the rifles of that model It will have over 75 pictures, and over 90 scans of Newton paper and other related items. It will be about 150-160 pages & 8&1/2 x 11. This researcher has the most material I'd ever seen on Newton (got him to send me it!) and I'm sure the New Book will be great! As well as historical data, there will be a chapter on calibers & ammo. I have communicated with the author, and my impression is that he is a very knowledgeable researcher. I would think with the rekindled interest in Newton & his cartridges, it will be highly welcome. Boom stick, you will need this book! I can't say more at this time, when its finally published, I' ll update all. Best Regards, Tom

Who is the author? Is this book significantly different from the Jennings book? I have 2 rifles in 256 Newton and think that it is a darned good long action 6,5mm choice if you're a reloader. Jeff

Hi: Sorry for late reply...I was away. The book should be better than Jennings Book. The author is larry Wales, a Newton Enthusiast, well educated. Bruce Jennings once told me his book is simply a compilation of Newton material, not a work of prose or all that well written..it has lots of good info though. I think Larry's new book will be really good as he's a good researcher & probably a better writer than Bruce. It should be quite different than Jenning's Book. I'll describe it here once I get a copy (probably near end of month if publisher gets it out then). That's the estimated date, near end of this month. Best Regards, Tom
