I'm always looking for something different to chamber the Martini Cadets in, so my latest hare-brained idea....

I was thinking about something a little bigger than the usual 357 based rounds....I have several hundred 38-40 cases for my '92 so I was wondering if anyone had used any 38-40 ( or 44-40 / 44mag ) cases necked down to something ?...maybe .357...

I know that you said bigger but how about the .22 Cotterman Jet? (Cottermn was I believe a Gun Writer from maybe GunWorld mag. from the 60's. The round is a blown out .22 jet (.357 parent case). It is listed in one of the Cartridges of The World.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.....I have Martini barrels in 17-357, 22-357, 6mm-357, 256 Win Mag, 6.5-357, 30 Herrett, 32-40 win along with 22 rimfire and the original 310 Cadet...seriously thinking about a 25-35.

You are a sick, sick man Roger! Big Grin
I have a cadet in 7x30 waters. It works fine, but a 25-35 would be a little slicker with the taper it has.

Thanks Tony, I'll take that as a compliment....my first fox rifle was Larry's 222 rimmed Martini with an 8x56 scope...Its been re-barrelled a few times, but I still have it!

You are a match for my wildcat ideas, what most people think as nuts. To me, it's fun and interesting!

I'll add the 17AB Martini my old hunting pal left me.

It was built circa 1968.
