I am seeing a lot of .17 .20 and .22 wildcats based on this case.

How much pressure can this case take?

If I am not mistaken, the SAAMI pressure for the 22 Hornet is 43,500psi.

Is this pressure limit based on the case, or some of the weaker actions?

wildcat junkie---

Brass is brass and the amount of pressure a case can hold is determined by how the case is SUPPORTED.

A (K} Hornet case in a stout action is a formidible foundation for sub caliber wildcats......I've personally never seen any use for a bore bigger than .224 on such a small case. There's just not enough case capacity to drive them.

I've read of the following wildcats off the .22 Hornet case:

.14 Hornet
.17 Ackley Hornet/K-Hornet (almost the same, just a tiny difference in shoulder angle).
.17 Squirrel (shortened .17 AH)
.19 Calhoon
.20 Hornet
.22 K-Hornet
6mm Hornet
.25 Hornet
.270 Ren (about as large as you can neck up the Hornet case, used by silhouette pistol shooters)
