Im thinking of building a rifle for a possable African trip. and saw the data on the .416 taylor round. I know its not exactly a wildcat as A-Square make the brass and loaded ammo. but it can also be made from .458 win mag. has any one used this round and what if any are the draw backs?? thanks Tom

I used it a lot prior to the 416 Rem. which voided it in my opinnion...The 416 Rem is a good deal better round and can be used on the same action, so I see no reason for the Taylor anymore..As to the bolt throw, thats pretty lame, that 1/4 of and inch, never casued me to short stroke a round...I never have bought off on that synopsis, its in some gun scribes imagination, it it were fact the folks that shoot a 222 couldn't shoot a 243 and 243 users couldn't possibly handle a big ole 270, and so fouth..
