Marty,

My 30-338 Lapua Improved is shooting sweet too, I love the round. 210 JLK's at 3250 fps and I'm happy!

The next one I want to do is the 338 LI, then after that I'd like to try the 338-408 CT Imp.

What length barrel is the guy using on that 338-408 CT?

Do keep us posted on what performance is. He'll be shooting the 300gr SMK, yeah? Maybe 3500 fps, ya think?

Marty,
Could you elaborate on what was done to make the 'web stronger'?

Thanks,
Scott

I do not recall the full specs on the 30-338 LM or the 338-408. IIRC the 30-338 uses a 32" barrel, and the 240 SMK is being pushed to 3300 fps. On the 338, he plans to use the 300 SMK, but is still in the fireforming stage.

Scott - from what I understand, the CT brass was given a heavier/thicker web to allow running 63K psi without issue. Other than that, it resembles normal 505 Gibbs brass. Due to the thicker web, internal volume is slightly reduced. Doc Taylor can give you full details, it's his brain child.

Let me see if I can get the lo-down on both from Jimmie, and post them here.

Marty
