J.D. Jones of SSK Industries in Ohio has a series of sub-sonic large caliber loads on cut down smaller cartridges.......sort of interested in a .50cal built on the .338 Lapua case but only have a 1917 Enfield and a FN action (circa 1952) to play with.......if anyone has strapped any of these "bad boys" on these type actions, I would love to hear all about it. Not looking for a $2K or even $1K project.......r in s.

I don't know of anyone who has made the Whisper rounds on either of these actions, but I can tell you that several guys around here have made full-out .50 Alaskan guns on the P-17 (might have been P-14's, same diff), and that is no problem. The one wild-eyed type shoots his as much as 1800 fps with a 710 gr. bullet, so they certainly can take the Whisper. Should be a simple rebarrel and chamber job.
