WhistlePipPopper,

Just finished load testing the 22-244 AI(22-6mm AI). These loads still use RL-22 and the 55 gr Sierra Blitzking seated to 2.820.

54.0 gr
4053 fps
E.S.: 20 fps
ctc: 0.578"

55.0 gr
4112 fps
E.S.: 28 fps
ctc: 0.741"

56.0 gr
4203 fps
E.S.: 19 fps
ctc: 0.956"

The 55.0 gr load started to show some horizontal stringing and it really showed in the 56.0 gr load. Both loads had vertical group spans in the 0.300" range. I suspect the rear action tang is shifting. I will take the rifle apart and check and rebed the rear tang if needed.

The 56.0 gr load is absolute max as I can not get any more powder in the case. Still fired cases rechameber as if they were virgin cases and primer pockets still feel brand new tight.

I will probably stay in the 53.0-54.5 gr level to save on barrel life.

I am just getting ready to build a fast twist long range rifle in this caliber next week. It will be using a straight cylinder Lilja 1.250" diameter barrel with a blue-printed Rem action using one of my own barrel block bedding systems. This barrel has a 1-8" twist and I will start testing the 80 gr Berger VLD's first.

I will post the results with that rifle when I range test it before sending it to its new home.

Good Shooting, welcome to the board!
