Wildcating the .308 win
Can anyone give me a list of cartridges built off the .308 Win

Thanks,

That's a very general question. Do you mean wildcats that use the 308W case and simply change shoulder angles, neck length, caliber, etc. Or do you mean wildcats that use the 308W case head but have some or all of the above in addition to changing case length? Either way, there's a bunch of them.

Any caliber to .411 has been done I assure you. And in any configuration from 40o shoulder angle to simple neck up and down's.

too many to list, but most have been commercialized in one form or the other. And like Jeffe said shorten to 1.5" an we have the BR cases. One wildcat that hasn't been mentioned is the 22 Cheetah.

I've been fireforming 375-08, so the 375cal is about Big Grin. The 308Win also formed the basis of the 44AutoMag pistol cartridge, plus there is at least one 'smith in the States building rifles in a full-length version of a 44-08 and headspacing of the case mouth.

Regarding the BR cases ... didnt Remington's BR case utilise small rifle primers rather than large? Hence the Cheetah Mk1 and Mk2????

I'm pretty sure CHeetah Mk1 and Mk2 have different shoulder angles; the primers are the same.

Yep ... just checked some references. Mk1 had a 40deg shoulder whereas MkII had a 28deg shoulder. Both can be made up from 308Win brass.
