30 years or so back in time. . .I quit wildcattin' rifles, changed to the 1911. I doubt if anybody has wildcatted the 1911 to the extent that I have. But Gunner Christensen might be runnin' right along 'side me.

We've got a 10mm. . called Delta D10. Outruns factory 10's 300 fps, any factory grain bullet. Got a 30cal (308) Our 308 SuperSlammer. From a 5" barrel, outruns a 30cal M1 Carbine.

This is our .224Zipperer. 40gr bullet @ 2259FPS average. Runs in any 1911 with a slide for a 9mm, 38Super, 9X23. . ..224 Zipperer is a 9X23 necked to a .224. Years ago. . .used 38Super cases, 223 cases, then 38Supercomp. When I discovered the 9X23 we changed to the 9X23. I used to sleeve 9mm 38Super barrels, Barsto makes 'em for us now.

I'd like to see what this would do runnin' through a longer barrel. Anybody got a small Sako action? Or the old H&R? (think they were model 361's) Made by Sako.

Thanks
Wild Bill

CoonDawg,
You can save me a lot of writin' if you'll go to Pistolsmith.com, might not be many hands here interested in wildcattin' a 1911. Scroll down to "Wild Bill Caldwell View from the Hills" Go down to Wild Bill Caldwells Delta D10. Photos showin' Pistols, cartridges and so on. Also, further down you can find the .308SuperSlammer.

Delta D10, pretty much is 308/243/270/30-06 case shortened and necked and reamed for 10mm. Same deal for the .308SuperSlammer. Usin' this base you can have just about any caliber you want. ie. 243/247/264/277/284/308/323.

Thanks for your interest
Wild Bill

I'd expect you'll gain ~50 fps/inch up to 16-18", then the gains will be in the 30 fps/inch range.

That should put you in the 2800 fps range for a 16" barrel. That actually seems kinda slow, as my 10" 218 mashburn bee would do 2700 fps w/ 40 gr pills. You might be gaining more then 50 fps/inch when going from 5-10" in length.
