Does actually this wildcat exist?Simply loading the 9,3 mm case with 375" bullets, without other changes.I have seen that several 9,3 mm european cartridges such as the 9,3 x 62 or the 9,3 x 64 were wildcatted in Africa to 375" bullet diameter in the past ( O.P.M.) because this number was vastly more common than the 9,3 mm bullets.

I doubt you would have any problem finding 9.3 ammo, particularly the 9.3x62 in Southern Africa. I do know some people in the USA have swaged down .375 projectiles to 9.3 successfully. No one needs an excuse to make a wildcat but I would submit that this suggestion makes no improvement over the parent round.

CH-4D lists dies for a 9.5x74R, which should be a .375, but I don't know if it is blown out.

A bit of history, if you will: In 1891 Winchester brought out the 38-90wcf for their single shot rifle. Approximately two years later, they were being imported by Ludwig Loewe and Sons in Berlin. In 1905(?) the germans simply reduced the bullet diameter from .379" to .366" and brought out the 9,3x74R. Dave at CH4D wanted a DR to hunt in Africa about 25 years ago. He was at a gunshow and a friend showed him a 9,3x74R case and said "here's the answer. Just neck it back up and go happy!". So Dave did. He figured it would be easy to dremel the ,3 into a ,5. He had a double rifle built and marked 9,5x74R. 270gr Speers at 2450. The rifle has been to Africa about a dozen times, and works well on DG. Three years ago, I was looking for a longer .375" case to shoot Black Powder Rifle Silhouettes with, and called Dave about did he have a reamer or dies for the 38-90. That's when he told me about his 9,5x74R. I would expect 300gr bullets about 2200=/-fps from a double at reasonable pressures. Check with Dave for loading data. All you do is expand the caseneck, in my case to .375" to use plentiful .375" bullets. Norma and Hornady and RWS all make brass. Rich Buff Killer

Thanks for your replies.I don't need to build a rifle so chambered ,I am just working on my wildcat cartridges collection.Since I have some empty 9,3 x 74R cases , necking them up to 375 is very simple and I have the opportunity to add another round to my collection... Code4 , I found that info about the scarce availability of 9,3 mm bullets on the trading list of the South African cartridge collectors association.Today finding out good 9,3 mm bullets is no difficult task but in the past ( so about 50 years ago) I am not sure they were so fairly common
