I believe this is a 358 STA since the 7 STW is nothing more than the 8 mag necked down to 7mm.

ramrod340Vip, the STA does change the shoulder angle and maybe some dimensions, the STW is simply a 8mm necked down.
Nope don't have a 358-8mm. Built a 358STA. As to fireforming. It is about as easy as it gets. Run the brass in die load and fire. The case headspaces on the rim. In my case I simply used my hunting load to form. I was not at the ragged top pressure Didn't even change the point of impact. Dies are cheaper than custom and off you go. You won't be shooting varmints so 100 cases or less will last forever. There is only maybe 4 or 5 grs of difference between them. You can get that much difference in brass brands.
I sold the STA and bought a 358Norma. Other than recoil I gave up very little. My 24" STA accurate load was 2767 with a 250. My 19.75" Norma gives me 2700 with factory 250s.
i have thought about the 358 nor. mag. i may have to back up and take a 2nd look. thanks

MileHighShooterMidway sells both A-Square and Quality Cart 358 STA....no fire forming at all!
